Ad Hoc Committees
From time to time special committees may be
appointed by the Chairperson, in order to handle special projects such
as: Northeast Regional events or election procedures. These committee
chairs are afforded the same rights and privileges as all other
committee chairs within the Assembly. These committees keep the
Area fully informed, requesting support when needed. These committees
dissolve when the special project has been completed.

The Archives
Committee
The Archives Committee is responsible for the
preservation of all items relevant to Area 29 history. These items
include, but are not limited to: Assembly and Committee minutes,
Delegate reports, A.A. group histories, Convention displays, current and
early edition A.A. literature, and all items related to Area 29
Convention history.
The committee is also
encouraged to acquire and catalog additional items directly related to
Area 29's A.A. group history. Responsibilities of this committee include
the preservation and protection of these items for future generations of
A.A. members in Area 29.
The Archives committee also displays items in it’s inventory on a
rotating basis at Area 29 Assemblies, workshops. Regular contact with
GSO for assistance and acquisition of Area 29 relevant data and
materials is strongly encouraged
CPC: The Cooperation with the Professional Community
The C.P.C. Committee consists of members who provide information about
A.A. to those who have contact with alcoholics through their profession.
These groups include health care professionals, educators, members of
the clergy, lawyers, social workers, union leaders, industrial managers,
those associated with drug courts [e.g., judges, prosecutors etc.] and
those working in the field of alcoholism.
The C.P.C. Committee
endeavors to increase awareness between professionals and A.A. We
cooperate with these professionals and the organizations with which they
are connected but we do not affiliate with them.
The
Corrections and Treatment Facilities Committee
The primary purpose of this committee is to
assist in carrying the message of Alcoholics Anonymous to the alcoholic
who is confined in either correctional or treatment facilities in and
around our area. In conjunction with our Intergroup structure, this
committee works with the various administrations of these institutions,
in order to provide a message of hope to the still-suffering alcoholic.
The committee members of this committee bring meetings and literature
into these institutions.
Another very important
aspect of this committee’s work is in the implementation and
facilitation of the “Bridging the gap contact service.” It is the
responsibility of the C.T.F. committee to assist the still suffering
alcoholic in bridging the “gap” from facility to the Fellowship on the
outside. A constant pool of volunteers, encompassing the entire Area is
needed to communicate that help is available for the alcoholic in need.

Information

carry the A. A. message and provides information about the Fellowship
to the public. It is also concerned with anonymity breaks and
misinformation about A. A. at the public level.
The PI Committee interacts with communities
through various educational and social agencies supplying literature and
information at community sponsored events. They are available to speak
at schools, health fairs and other similar venues.
